A-Frame - our new base!
Youth providers, social workers, teachers, local artists, probation officers, mental health workers, doctors, farmers, parents, anyone with an idea for collaboration with us............

It would be wonderful if you could drop in for a cup of tea by the fire & sample a taste of a practical Forest School activity during our open afternoon on Weds 1st October anytime between 2-5pm!

Now that we have not-for-profit status, we’d like to discuss opportunities for collaborating with you.  Drawing on our experience of working with a range of people in our community, how might we best use this wonderful outdoor learning resource?
Forest School in action end of August

Only one damp day and two of glorious sunshine during our Easter holiday Forest School; we studied and ate nettles, enjoyed all things leaves; finding them, drawing them, eating them. We also watched and listened to birds, studied their eggs, studied worms, hunted wild garlic, celebrated the old horse-chestnut, made dens and played.

We are looking forward to two more days of fun during half-term and then it's out of the old army tent and into a new shelter for the summer holidays..............watch this space! (see 'Holiday sessions' page for more details)

The challenges of February.

We had chosen to cancel Monday's holiday session, but by Wednesday, after a day of sunshine we were lucky enough to welcome 13 eager children to a whole day of being outside. It had been with heavy hearts that we'd surveyed the ground at Vallis days before Monday's holiday session, we were slipping in mud in a waterlogged field and the forecast was for more extreme wind and rain to come. Not knowing what to expect but determined to run the second session we decided to plan the Wednesday around protecting yourself from the forces of the weather and Den building was the order of the day.

HUGE apologies to all for not having a camera to hand as some amazing structures were created and it was a lot of fun!

Thanks to Chris and Cordelia who's recently pollarded young willows provided us with a fantastic building resource and thanks to Tammy for her warm and enthusiastic assistance.
